Gin

Gin originated as a medicinal liquor, which was made by monks across Europe, the origins of gin can be traced back to as early as the eleventh century.

Benedictine monks, in the rolling hills of Salerno, southern Italy, distilled gin as a medicine, it's widely known that juniper has been an essential part of doctors' kits for centuries, with juniper tonic wine being used for coughs, colds and cramps.

Some doctors even believed juniper helped prevent the black death and would spike their masks with juniper aplenty in an attempt to ward off infection.

Nowadays, gin is a popular drink with a variety of flavours, blends and strengths available.
